You know every once in a while you meet someone and later you to come to realize it was destiny?

That is how my husband Kirk and I feel about Lewis. Several years ago we purchased a property with an existing home that was both a restoration and new build out. The original home was built in the 1860’s and moved to the location. A close friend had bought the property for a project to flip. Kirk and I both loved the location so went to her and asked if she would let us buy her out and take over the renovations which she agreed to. There was crew already in place that was paid for everything that the prior owner had contracted them to do prior to our actual purchase of the property.

After they completed the new framing for the addition and dried the house in we had planned to continue with them to complete the interior. Sounds great so far right? Well, we quickly learned that the contractor had loyalty to the previous owner and not to us. So here we were six months later and still waiting for the interior work to begin. We were so frustrated. After several attempts to gain the loyalty of that contractor, we realized it would never happen so decided to go shopping for a new contractor. As luck would have it a client of mine had a contractor renovating a home I had sold them.

We went over to see the house and meet their contractor so we could see the caliber of his work. Needless to say we were very impressed. Lewis had made a sow’s ear into a silk purse. But even at that we decided to speak with other contractors and get a few bids. I can be honest and share with you that Lewis was not the low bidder, but everything in our gut said he was trustworthy and honest which was very important to us. The rest is history. Lewis did an outstanding job and heard our voices through-out the process. I refer him on a regular basis to my customers and client base and without exception everyone who hires Lewis is thrilled. For me to make any referral can be risky but when it comes to Lewis he is the only choice!

"Our 1980s ranch house near Round Top was in sad shape before we let Lewis Tindall get onto it. His business card read "Specializing in ranch style and country homes," and that he does! He is excellent in craftsmanship as well as in design and construction details. He transformed our old "city house" from literally a broken mess of a place ("Overwhelming," as some viewers described it) into a country showplace.

One of the things we like best, that set Lewis apart from other contractors we've worked with, was he was on premise all the time, supervising and checking his workers and working beside them.

The results are spectacular, as one can easily see at our website: www.jasterroadranch.com."

"In 2007, we found our dream weekend getaway in the Round Top area.  The land was a mirror image of our “wish list” and had been expertly redesigned by the prior owners.  Amidst an elevated sense of excitement over what had become our treasure trove, we had convinced ourselves that the old farmhouse would meet our weekend needs.  Unfortunately, shortly after closing and the installation of a new metal roof, we were met with an unexpected reality that the pre-closing inspection had failed to diagnose:  The house was collapsing into itself.

At this point, with everything literally collapsing around us, the excitement we had felt was giving way to doubt and frustration.  It was then that we were referred to Tindall General Contractors, a local homebuilder who specializes in farmhouse restorations.

Prior homebuilding experiences made us doubtful that the home could be salvaged.  However, the referral to TGC and introduction to its owner, Lewis Tindall, provided the assurance that we were on the path to good fortune once again.  Beginning with the first meeting, he allayed our fears into submission by actively listening to our concerns with calm resolve and providing innovative and versatile alternatives for consideration.

It was his dedication to excellence and overall command of the building process, coupled with myriad experience, which produced an outcome far beyond our expectations.  Lewis graciously imparted his ideas without being forceful, demanding or dramatic.  When it seemed impossible, Lewis Tindall was there, thinking through the details with resolute calm, providing sage insight and viable, creative options.

Following this successful restoration effort, we proceeded to build an addition to the farmhouse in 2009, with TGC at the helm once again.  This phase of development required innovative problem-solving, resulting in an expansion that is in complete unison with the original structure, both as to design and construction.  Again, it was obvious that our builder’s attitude and capabilities set him apart from industry peers.

The final phase of development occurred in 2010 when TGC guided the design and construction of an outdoor entertainment area, comprised of swimming, cooking and dining areas, a bathhouse and an equipment/storage building.  Once again, this was an enthusiastic endeavor that produced amazingly beautiful results and enhanced the prior building efforts.

TGC has continued to surpass our expectations.  Lewis Tindall, along with a talented, hard-working crew and expert sub-contractors, epitomized the expertise, efficiency, insight and flexibility required to yield this transformation, turning our “pig’s ear” into a “silk purse”."

"Lewis was fantastic to work with!! His layed back easy fare of bringing everything to its original beginnings was refreshing...most builders are hesitant and say no before they even know the scope of work.

Lewis was always there to hear the full request and expectations from both the client and myself!!  His vision and appreciation to details for this house were wonderful! Wish we had him in the city!! I would love to work on another project with him!!"
